Hi Paul: As a parent, I'm facing the very lesson you describe; my daughter is using a strange cribsheet in making emotional decisions. It was tough to figure where it was coming from until i acknowledged the huge impact her athletic life has made on her. She uses those "mental toughness" standards to judge OTHERS when those standards are meant to apply to ONESELF.

I have the problem too of getting to a blog and finding that I figure the conversation is already over hours ago. That’s the downside of putting the hour stamp on your comments by the way.

I don't really care what Tigger did. It's not that I don't value fidelity, humility or good taste - I do. But we all have made at least one major mistake in our lives and you know what they say about glass houses. But I am curious...curious to see if, after Tigger's initial choke, Tiger can find the mental toughness to live the lesson. I hope he does cuz we got too many fallen and false heroes littering our collective psyche and it would be nice to see one stand and deliver.

Well-done. Check these out if they interest you:

Anne Rice's FB fan page - she's my absolute favorite author and also one of my favorite human beings: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Anne-Rice/66435815451?ref=sgm

Todd Lowe: He's on True Blood and went to KHS. Life is too funny but I am REALLY happy for him. The last time I saw him was in Austin when he tried to convince me to ditch UW - Madison and study RTF @ Austin. (As it turns out I shoulda, for as much good as English Lit did for me.) He recently "friended" me, so that should be interesting. He always was a sweet guy. His band is hysterical too, but definitely not "G-rated" ... http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=todd+lowe&x=15&y=11

Well-said. As a woman, I would hold any Kennedy or Clinton man at arm's length for my own protection, but that does not negate any good a person does in any other sphere of their life!
